Regional chapters offer local connection
{Reading-Berks} A network of chapters has developed over the years to provide members with highly responsive local groups to permit more direct marketing and personal involvement opportunities for craftsperson. The chapters are different in flavor and programs, with each reflecting the interests and needs of its membership.
Established to provide regional centers for craftspeople across Pennsylvania to meet and host programs, the Guild's chapters vary in size and activity. All chapters should be viewed as a resource for getting involved in crafts locally.
Many of the PGC chapters offer educational programs, operate craft fairs and/or retail shops, present gallery exhibits and foster a local fellowship. Each chapter, while independent in its activities, is an integral part of the whole PGC, and welcomes participation by members from other regions.
We encourage our members to become active on the chapter level and to hold volunteer positions. The strength of the Guild and its chapters has always been the high degree of volunteerism of its members.
Membership in the Guild may be "At Large," that is, without any chapter affiliation, or through one or more chapters. Chapters have their own dues schedule in addition to the state fees.
